If your call audio switches to the earpiece when you raise your phone to your ear, don’t worry — this behavior is completely normal.
Most smartphones include a proximity sensor, which detects when the device is close to your face.
To protect your hearing and prevent sudden loud audio, the system will automatically:
-
Switch from speaker to earpiece mode
-
Lower the audio output to a safe level
-
Disable the screen to avoid accidental touches
This feature is controlled by your device hardware, not the JusTalk app, and is designed to ensure a safer calling experience.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your phone switches to earpiece mode unexpectedly:
Make sure the proximity sensor is not blocked by a screen protector, dust, or a thick phone case
Clean the sensor area near the top of your device
Restart your device to recalibrate sensors
