Kinzoo is a strong first messenger for younger children: approved contacts, no public profiles, and plenty of creative extras. Core messaging is free, but premium content, Zoonies, and the separate Kinzoo Together app make its pricing less simple than it first appears.
Kinzoo Review: Quick Verdict
| Best for | Children aged 6+ messaging known friends and relatives |
| Core price | Free, with optional subscription and in-app purchases |
| Platforms | iOS, Android, and Amazon devices; no phone number required |
| Strongest point | Parents approve a child’s contacts before conversations begin |
| Main drawback | Premium prompts are visible, while parent activity reports do not show full chats |
Bottom line: Kinzoo Messenger handles closed-circle child messaging well. It is less convincing if you want detailed monitoring, live location, larger family calls, or one product that combines communication and parental tools.
Kinzoo Features: Messenger and Together
Kinzoo now has two distinct family products. Messenger focuses on everyday communication. Kinzoo Together turns video calls into shared play sessions.
Kinzoo Messenger
- Messages: Text, photos, videos, voice messages, GIFs, emojis, and group chats.
- Calls: Voice and video calls with approved contacts.
- Paths: Interactive stories, podcasts, quizzes, and activities delivered inside Messenger.
- Creative extras: Stickers, face filters, wallpapers, custom emojis, and mini games.
- Shared devices: Individual PINs let several family members use separate profiles on one device.
Profiles are not publicly searchable. Children connect through an invitation or Magic Code, and parents can require approval before a contact is added.
Kinzoo Together
Together is a separate video-calling app for grandparents, parents, and children. It includes synchronized books, two-player games, drawing, coloring, activities, Topics, and photo-booth filters inside calls.
It works on iOS, Android, and the web. The free tier includes unlimited calling and the activity library, supported by limited age-appropriate, non-targeted ads. A paid option removes ads.
Kinzoo Pricing and Subscriptions
Prices below are the US listings checked in September 2026. App-store prices and taxes can vary by platform or region, so confirm the renewal period and total at checkout.
Kinzoo’s Help Center calls the membership Kinzoo Premium, while Apple’s US in-app purchase list labels it Kinzoo Club.
| Product | Price | What you get |
| Kinzoo Messenger Free | $0 | Core chat, voice/video calls, and a selection of filters, stickers, wallpapers, and games |
| Kinzoo Club / Premium | $4.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly | Kinzoo Originals: 50+ filters, 10+ mini games, all wallpapers, 25+ sticker packs, and premium Paths for the household |
| Zoonies | From $1.99 for 100; up to $19.99 for 2,400 | One-time currency for selected Marketplace items instead of a membership |
| Kinzoo Together Free | $0 with ads | Unlimited calls plus books, games, activities, Topics, and photo-booth filters |
| Always Together | US App Store lists $6.99 and $59.99 options | Ad-free Together experience; verify the monthly or annual billing term in the app |
The US App Store also lists a $119.99 lifetime Together purchase. Kinzoo’s current official page says one subscription removes ads for both callers during their shared experience.
Safety and Parental Controls
Kinzoo’s closed-contact design is useful, but it is not a full parental-control suite. Its safety tools cover access and connections more than device supervision.
- Parents can approve, add, or remove a child’s contacts.
- Profiles do not appear in a public user search.
- Children cannot buy Marketplace content directly; they can ask a parent.
- Kid Activity shows high-level connection activity, not complete message histories.
- Google Play reports encryption in transit and an option to request data deletion.
- Google Play also says the app may share app activity, app information, performance data, and device identifiers with third parties.
Kinzoo says Messenger complies with COPPA and GDPR. That claim should not be confused with end-to-end encryption, which Kinzoo’s public feature pages do not promise.
What Third-Party Reviews Say
Store ratings checked in September 2026 are strong, although they measure satisfaction rather than independent safety testing. Scores change over time.
| Source | Current signal | Useful takeaway |
| Apple App Store | 4.7/5 from 8.8K ratings | Users like the communication tools; some reviews ask for ways to earn Zoonies without paying |
| Google Play | 4.8/5 from 11.4K reviews; 1M+ downloads | Recent reviewers praise cross-platform family messaging and the free creative options |
| Common Sense Media | Expert recommendation: age 6+ | Praises the controlled environment and simple interface; flags purchase prompts and limited parent visibility |
| WhistleOut | 4/5 review | Calls it a good fit for kid messaging without an addictive feed, while noting the token system |
These reviews point to the same conclusion: Kinzoo is easy and appropriately limited, but its Marketplace is noticeable and its parent dashboard is not designed for reading conversations.
Kinzoo vs. JusTalk
Kinzoo is strongest as a child’s first closed messenger. JusTalk is broader: it supports everyday family communication, large group calls, richer call features, and optional controls for linked child accounts.
| Need | Kinzoo | JusTalk advantage |
| Large family calls | Standard family voice and video calling | Group calls with up to 50 people |
| Activities during calls | Together provides books, games, and drawing in a separate app | In-call games, doodles, recording, and Memories are part of the wider JusTalk experience |
| Parental tools | Contact approval and activity summaries | Friend management, sensitive-content control, live location, and parent-account linking |
| Family subscription | Messenger Premium covers the household’s Kinzoo Originals | Premium Family covers up to six accounts with all Premium benefits |
JusTalk’s basic service is free. JusTalk Premium costs $9.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly. Premium Family costs $19.99 monthly or $99.99 yearly and covers up to six accounts.
Choose Kinzoo for simple approved-contact messaging. Choose JusTalk when your household values group calls, call recording, live location, sensitive-content controls, and one family plan spanning adult and child accounts.
